Stamford Robotics 2012 FLL Exhibition Event

Register Now

We are planning a FIRST LEGO League Exhibition event in coordination with the 2012 Stamford Jr FLL Expo on February 12th, 2012 at the Academy of Information Technology and Engineering High School.  The event will start at about 9:00 am (setup at 8 or 8:30) and conclude at about 12:30.

This event will give FLL teams one more chance to show their stuff for the Food Factor season, while showing the Jr. FLL kids what's in store for them with FLL!

Fields will be Food Factor season fields and rules.  Each team will have a "booth" table to display their research work, etc..  However, this is not a regulation FLL tournament.  Robot runs will be scored, but there will not be any judging (teamwork, research, technical).

The 4th Annual Stamford Robotics Expo was held in 2011 on February 13th!

31 Jr. FLL teams, 5 FLL teams, over 75 volunteers, as well as some very special guests, made for a fantastic event.  We celebrated our youth and their awesome LEGO creations and science knowledge. A fun time was had by all.

Over 200 young students representing teams from: Stamford Elementary Schools; Stamford community organizations like Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, and CTE; 8 Girl Scout sponsored teams from across Connecticut; a community team; and a team from Wolcott Connecticut were in attendance. Jr. FLL teams (age 6 to 9) explained the LEGO models they created to the event reviewers, talked about their "show me" poster, and told about all the cool things they learned researching this year's "Body Forward" biomedical engineering theme. Meanwhile FLL teams (age 9 to 14) had one more chance to run their FLL robots, competing in head-to-head competition with other FLL teams with the robots they built and programmed themselves.

Who We Are

About Stamford Robotics

Stamford Robotics is a local organization dedicated to bringing science and technology FUN to young people in our area. We do this by running local events and supporting teams of young people. We want to build the science and technology heroes of tomorrow, and have fun doing it!

Our current programs are Junior FIRST Lego League (Jr. FLL) and FIRST Lego League (FLL) in Stamford, Connecticut. Our site features information for new coaches, schools, and other community organizations considering FLL or Jr. FLL programs.

Stamford Robotics was created by Coaches/Mentors and members of former FIRST LEGO League teams in Stamford. Many in the FIRST community will know us as the S.M.A.R.T. Team from Scofield Magnet Middle School. The S.M.A.R.T. team participated in FLL from its beginnings. They also had the distinction of being two time State FLL Champions - representing the state of Connecticut in Atlanta at the FLL World Festival. These teams are no longer active, but their former members, coaches, and mentors are still here to promote the positive impact of this program.
